This False Hope

This false hope my tragic demise
telling me that theres an ultimate prize
leading me south, leading me further
this dark place of past false endeavor

passing now, through and through
that ship has sailed, me and you
thinking back it was clearly true
the future was figured if only I knew

Leading me back to the state I was in
truth undone and paper thin
working back to the place I began
starting back as a fresh new man

Starring into your eyes so new
remembering all that I thought I knew
to say that I'm sad, to say that its gloomy
would not be right, the words, they disown me

fresh new places with which I jump in
new opportunities of which are within
saying I'm right or saying your wrong
would be like playing my own worn song

I miss you I must
with this I will trust
That I will no longer make such a fuss

Of what was then because of now
The worthless love song I sing with no sound
these angels sing, now and again
to remind me of who I really am

To say I'm lost would be a lie
for I am found as gripping realizations fly
without any name, but is known by all
thoughts in your heart, they stand tall
